Given a number of constraints—including time/space on the slopes, coach: athlete ratios, coaching resources, etc.— HVRC can accept only so many members each year. For the ski season, we hope to be able to extend invitations to potential new members in OCTOBER (following the registration process for returning members). These new-member invitations will be directed to the email address we have on file. If you would like to be added to the list, please drop a line to [email protected] and include your racer’s: (i) name; (ii) age; (iii) gender; (iv) experience level; and (v) any additional info you’d like us to have. Please understand that demand and participation for HVRC has increased tremendously over the last few years. We’re doing everything we can to make the program as inclusive as possible—while also maintaining our standards for safety and quality instruction—and there are only so many spots available. Finally, please note that all members are subject to ongoing compliance with the requirements below.

HVRC will consider membership applications for racers 8 years and older who have a demonstrated interest and commitment to learning the fundamentals of alpine skiing and ski racing. All prospective club racers must be able to: (i) use the chair lifts and rope tow at Hidden Valley without assistance; (ii) confidently and safely navigate all the runs at Hidden Valley, while demonstrating basic turn fundamentals; (iii) get in and out of their skis and pole-straps without assistance; (iv) manage themselves in a responsible manner while on the hill, including the ability to recognize cold and fatigue; and (v) receive and accept instruction, coaching, and direction from HVRC coaches and staff. Everyone affiliated with HVRC (racers, coaches, staff, and parents) are expected to treat one another – as well as resort personnel and other skiers on the mountain – in a respectful manner.

HVRC reserves the ongoing right to refuse or rescind membership to individuals who are unable to meet the above criteria.
