HVRC met with the new management representatives from 7 Springs and we came from our meeting encouraged looking forward to building our relationship through open communication and support that was evident during our meeting. Our thanks to 7 Springs management for spending time with us and welcome to the HVRC family! We will be moving forward as it was stated with “business as usual” with some minor changes in communications and logistics as we discussed. We are pleased to announce that the basic infrastructure and operations of HVRC will remain in place with some minor improvements.
HVRC welcomes several new members for the 13-14 season; Leigh Failla (U14), Quinn Hughes (U8), Jack Richards (U10), Shea Paige (U12), Savannah Vetterly (U14), and Kay Will (U16). Please take note of the new Highlands Pass that Hidden Valley and Seven Springs is offering (see attached mail). There is an upgrade offer for those that already have secured an HV season pass.
Club dues for renewing HVRC members should be paid by November 16, 2013 and every racer must send in the liability form (attached) and paid dues prior to joining their first practice of the 2013-2014 season. This is a change from last year. New members must submit their application, liability form and club dues before attending their second practice. Please do not use earlier versions of the forms. Those members that are renewing need not send in a club application unless their personal information has changed. Please let us know as soon as possible if your racer will be joining HVRC this year. Applications, liability forms, and dues should be sent to Ralph Manson 289 Shasta Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15239
We are planning a parents meeting and dry land training day that is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 16th. We are hoping to hold the event at Hidden Valley from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM. There is construction ongoing at the HV Ski Lodge in preparation for the upcoming season so our backup plan would be to move the event to 7 Springs. Please advise Ralph if you would be able to attend the event.
There will also be a huge ski swap at 7 Springs on Saturday, November 16th. There are a number of race clubs including WPRC included in this newly organized event. We have been invited to attend by WPRC. The information we have for the swap is below and also on Willi’s website. This swap is unique in that it involves so many clubs and you designate 10% of your sell price to the race club of your choice and 5% to the swap organizers. If you have questions, please contact Rebecca (cc’d) or myself and we will get the answers. There is more detail below:
Anyone can sell at the swap, anyone can buy at the swap…no club affiliation is necessary to take part but everything sold requires a portion of the sale to be donated to a ski or snowboard related club.
You can find the detail on Willi’s website in their blog section here http://willisskiandboard.com/blog/
Gear can be dropped off at any of the main Willi’s locations (not Ski Warehouse) starting November 4th until November 14th. You may also drop off at Festival Hall at 7 Springs from 9:00 AM – 11:00AM on November 16th. The Swap itself will run from 12 Noon to 4:00 PM Nov 16th.
