There will be race practice on Saturday and Sunday this weekend from 9:00 AM – Noon.
Sunday’s practice is a make-up so it is not on our published schedule. Racers should meet outside old Glaciers; booted up and ready to ski at 9:00 AM. Coach Steve, Coach Eric, and Coach Todd will meet you there. We are planning to put up gates for Sunday’s practice if there is enough snow. If you are able to assist with practice set-up, check in with Ralph at 8:30 at the lift operations office.
For those parents who are new to HVRC, we recommend that you worry about getting your racers to practice and watch how things are done for the first couple of practices. There will be plenty of opportunity to help out in future practices.
Given the later start and the holidays, we have rescheduled our early season parents meeting for Sunday, January 8th. That is also the day of our first Open Cup Race of the season so we are planning to meet at 9:30 AM.
Christmas Week will be quite busy for us. Several practices are scheduled and the Vector Races on the 30th is an important day for J3’s.
J1-J3 racers planning to compete in the Vector Races at 7 Springs on Friday, December 30th should be registering now. This race is only for J1 – J3. The race is now listed on their website. Remember that there are two races that day so remember to register for both races.
J1 – J6 racers planning to compete in the Snow Capitol GS at 7 Springs on Saturday, January 7th should be registering by December 30th. For those racers that have not competed in a USSA race, this is a good one to choose for your first USSA race. Please let the coaches know if you are planning to race so we can advise you on procedures.
